AUBURN, Ala. - The Auburn men's and women's track team will open the 2014 outdoor season as the Tigers will send a group to the 87th annual Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays and another group to the Yellow Jacket Invitational.

"We're excited to get the outdoor season started this weekend," Auburn head coach Ralph Spry said. "We've had good preparation in the weight room and on the track, so this will be a good opportunity for our athletes to compete and give us a starting point to work on moving forward. We will be resting some of our key people this weekend, but will have a lot of athletes competing in open events.  We have a young team that is eager to compete, break the ice and see where we're at."

The Auburn women's team is coming off a successful indoor season in which the team finished 12th at the NCAA Indoor Championships as junior Valentina Muzaric and freshman Marshay Ryan finished second in the shot put and triple jump, respectively.
