ATLANTA - Middle Tennessee concluded the Yellow Jacket Invitational with two first place finishes and four personal-best times, while Eliud Rutto broke his own MT outdoor 800-meter record.

"The weather made the meet very interesting and in spite of the weather we had some good performances," said Head Coach Dean Hayes. "It seemed to get colder and colder. Every ten minutes it was completely different. For the weather, I am happy with the results we received. We got some very good performances from Eliud Rutto, Shadrack Matelong and India Hammond."

Rutto broke his own Middle Tennessee school record in the 800-meter, finishing with a time of 1:47.97. Rutto's previous-best time came at the NCAA Championships June 8, 2013 (1:48.07). Shadrack Matelong captured first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, while setting his personal-best time of 9:13.11. Alden Dixon also added a third-place finish for Middle Tennessee in the steeplechase (9:40.31).
